Reasons Why The Odinga Family Is Now Appealing To Kenyans To Support Them Financially

The Odinga family has reached out to Kenyans of goodwill for support as they prepare to lay their loved one, Beryl Achieng Odinga, to rest.

The emotional appeal was shared by her sister, Ruth Odinga, who announced that a memorial and fundraising gathering will be held at House No. 5, Mwingi Villas in Kileleshwa at 4:00 p.m.

Well wishers have been encouraged to contribute through the Beryl Achieng Odinga Funeral Fund using the provided Paybill number 8002413, with donors asked to include their full names.

The call for assistance highlights the family’s desire to give Beryl a dignified farewell as they navigate the emotional and financial strain that comes with losing a loved one.

Beryl passed away on 25 November 2025 while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital.

She was a daughter of the late first Vice President Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga.

She leaves behind three children, adding to the weight of the loss for the family.

Her death comes just weeks after the burial of her brother Raila Odinga, marking a painful double tragedy for the Odinga family.

Although she lived a relatively private life, Beryl was remembered as warm, kind-hearted, and deeply devoted to her family.

The family has assured the public that the full funeral programme will be shared once finalized, including details about her final resting place in Bondo, Siaya County.

This difficult moment presents an opportunity for Kenyans, friends, and supporters to stand with the Odinga family as they honour Beryl Achieng’s memory and prepare to bid her a peaceful farewell.
