Person Who Allegedly Blocked Raila's 2007 Presidency And is Now Claiming to Mourn Him Named

Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has blamed Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka for the late Raila Odinga's inability to secure the presidency in 2007.

He has bashed Kalonzo for abandoning Raila to form ODM-Kenya, and later running against Raila and President Mwai Kibaki in the presidential race.

According to the lawmaker, had Kalonzo stood with Raila and brought his 800,000 votes into his basket, he would have comfortably defeated Kibaki.

“Kalonzo Musyoka split from ODM in August 2007 to run as ODM-Kenya candidate, receiving 879,903 votes (8.9%). He later supported Kibaki’s PNU in the disputed tally and joined the coalition government as vice president in April 2008."

“Had Kalonzo Musyoka stood by Baba, 5,232,896 votes would have been achieved," he says on X.

Kalonzo is among national leaders who have been vocal in their mourning of Raila, who died last month, even taking cattle to his home as a way of demonstrating how bereaved he is.
