DCP Allegedly Confiscates Ksh18,000 From Elderly Man Accused of Voter Bribery at Ndutori Primary

Democracy for the Citizens (DCP) party has announced that it intercepted Ksh18,000 from an elderly man allegedly attempting to bribe voters during the Mbeere North by-election.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Ndutori Primary School polling station.

In a statement shared on social media, the party said its team discovered the man with the money while he was trying to influence voters.

The statement emphasized the party’s commitment to preventing electoral malpractice and ensuring a free and fair voting process.

“Our team at Ndutori Primary has confiscated 18,000 shillings from an elderly man who was bribing voters.

We will remain vigilant and present no matter what! Operation Funga Kiosk,” the DCP statement read.

The party’s action highlights growing concerns about voter bribery during by-elections across the country.

Such incidents undermine democratic processes and erode public trust in elections.

By acting swiftly, the DCP intends to send a strong message that bribery will not be tolerated.

Election observers and party agents are increasingly on alert as campaigns and polling continue.

Confiscating funds meant for voter inducement is seen as a proactive step to protect the integrity of the voting process and ensure that citizens’ choices remain free and independent.

The elderly man’s motives or any further legal consequences have not yet been disclosed.
