The authority’s regular reviews are aimed at reflecting changes in global oil prices, exchange rates, and other market factors, ensuring consumers pay fair prices while maintaining stability in the energy sector.
The announcement comes at a time when Kenyan motorists have faced rising living costs and concerns over transportation expenses. While the reductions are modest, they provide some relief to drivers and businesses that rely heavily on fuel.
Consumers are advised to check prices at local service stations before refueling, as slight variations may occur depending on location and distribution costs.
EPRA has also reminded the public to report any instances of overcharging to ensure compliance with the new rates.
Analysts say that while the decreases are small, continued monitoring of global fuel trends could lead to further reductions or increases in the coming months.
They also noted that responsible use of fuel and investment in public transport can help mitigate the impact of fluctuating prices on households and businesses.
