As the clock ticks towards the 2027 general election, a good number of President William Ruto's Cabinet Secretaries will be forced to confront some political dilemma.
Should they relinquish their positions and try their hands in politics? Or should they stay put, hoping that Dr Ruto secures a second term in office, and thereby retain them in cabinet?
Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya is one of those who may have to make bold decisions to secure their future in case of any eventuality.
Tuya is one of the most consummate female politicians in Kenya today, having been in the game for over one decade now.
After representing Narok County as Women Representative for two terms, in 2022, she stepped out of the race for Narok County Governor in favour of Patrick Ole Ntutu.
She would go on serving as Nominated Senator before being appointed to the cabinet.
Going to 2027, will the Defence CS be tempted to return to elective politics?
