Time to the 2027 general elections is fast edging closer and political leaders who have ambitions have begun making their plans known for the election year.

On one side president William Ruto is keen to defend his presidential seat while on the other side the United alternative government led by Rigathi Gachagua, Fred Matiang'i, Kalonzo Musyoka, George Natembeya, Martha Karua and others want to unseat the president and so it is to the Linda Mwananchi faction of the Orange Democratic Movement party led by Edwin Sifuna, James Orengo and Babu Owino.

Former trade and public service cabinet secretary Moses Kuria has weighed into the aftermath of the 2027 general elections, he says that should Ruto fail to defend his seat, he will lead a vibrant opposition more powerful than that of Raila and he will make a comeback in 2032 during otger round of general elections.
