Kirinyaga Woman Representative Njeri Maina on Wednesday urged former President Uhuru Kenyatta to forge alliances with opposition leaders in a bid to make President William Ruto a one-term leader.
Speaking during a burial ceremony in Kirinyaga, Maina called on key opposition leaders, including Uhuru, former Interior CS Fred Matiang'i, DCP Party leader Rigathi Gachagua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, and James Orengo, to unite and present a formidable front against Ruto’s re-election bid.
“Mshikane na hawa viongozi wote tuhakikishe huu uongozi wa kifua na wizi wa pesa za uma tumeuondoa mamlakani,” Maina said.
This loosely translates to, " Join hands with all these leaders so that we can ensure this leadership of arrogance and misuse of public funds is removed from power.”
Her remarks were met with loud cheers and chants of “Ndiyo, Ndiyo” from mourners, signaling strong support for opposition unity.
The MP accused Ruto of mismanaging the health sector raising concern over report that SHA lost 50 billion.
