VIDEO: How Heavy Downpour Greatly Disrupted Sifuna's Linda Mwananchi Rallies In Vihiga

Heavy rainfall briefly disrupted parts of the Linda Mwananchi rallies in Vihiga County, but the events continued as planned, ending with a major closing rally in Luanda town.

The leaders, including Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Siaya Governor James Orengo, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, began their day at Shamakhokho Market where large crowds had already gathered despite early morning showers.

As the rain intensified in some areas, residents used umbrellas and makeshift shelter, but the turnout remained strong.

The leaders continued addressing the public, saying the weather would not stop their engagement with wananchi.

In their speeches, they emphasized unity, political awareness, and grassroots mobilisation, urging supporters to remain focused ahead of the 2027 elections.

Later in the day, the team proceeded to Luanda for the final and biggest rally. By then, the weather had eased slightly, allowing thousands of residents to gather for the mega event.

The Luanda rally officially closed the Vihiga chapter of the tour for the day, with leaders thanking residents for turning out in large numbers despite the heavy rains.

Supporters were seen celebrating and waving as the convoy moved through the town, marking a strong finish to a day that tested both organisers and attendees.

The “Linda Mwananchi” team is expected to continue its mobilisation in other regions, with today’s Vihiga rallies seen as one of the most attended despite weather challenges.
