The Linda Mwananchi movement, spearheaded by Sifuna, has been traversing different parts of the country, openly opposing President William Ruto’s administration and rallying support around governance and accountability issues.
However, a recent revelation from the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties has raised eyebrows after it emerged that someone had initiated the process of registering a party under the same name.
Sifuna’s team has since distanced itself from the move, maintaining that they are unaware of who is behind the registration attempt.
The development comes amid heightened political tensions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
Just yesterday, the party’s Parliamentary Group (PG) reportedly endorsed the removal of Edwin Sifuna as Secretary-General following internal disagreements over the party’s perceived alignment with the “broad-based” government.
Sifuna had challenged the move, setting the stage for a legal battle and deepening internal wrangles within the party.
