Winnie Odinga on Spot as Claims Emerge on Her Secret Political Plea for CS Slots That Ruto Rejected

Kisii County Woman Representative, Hon. DonyaDorice Aburi, has raised eyebrows by publicly questioning Winnie Odinga’s motivations in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), following a series of her remarks that have drawn public attention and criticism.

In a post shared on Facebook, Hon. Aburi suggested that Winnie Odinga’s recent vocal comments on ODM matters stem from personal political ambitions rather than genuine concern for the party’s direction.

She alleged that Winnie previously sought high-profile cabinet positions from President William Ruto, and that her frustration with unmet expectations may be influencing her current public statements.

“My sister, you need to tell people the truth. Weren’t you the one who asked President Ruto to appoint you as CS for Foreign Affairs? When he declined, you then asked for the Tourism CS position. 

The President declined again and instead offered you a PS position, which he was benevolent enough to offer, but you rejected, saying it was CS or nothing,” Aburi wrote.

She went on to connect these ambitions to Winnie Odinga’s perceived criticisms of her late father’s associates, stressing that personal loyalty cannot be assumed in political matters.

“That is the reason you are unhappy with your uncle—you feel he did not push hard enough for you. My sister, President Ruto was your father’s friend, not your friend. He owes you nothing,” Aburi added.

Hon. Aburi further cautioned Winnie against what she described as attempts to manipulate public opinion through “cheap blackmail” and urged her to respect the legacy and guidance of senior political figures.

“You are walking toward the political dustbin. Please take this as a free lesson in political survival,” she wrote.

The post has generated debate online, highlighting the sensitivities around family involvement in party politics and the growing scrutiny of ODM’s internal dynamics.
