The officer, identified as 28-year-old Second Lieutenant Synthia Awuor Mboya, was found dead in her bedroom on December 24, 2025, at Nyahera Village, bearing injuries.
Police arrested the husband, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law of the deceased.
The arrests come as investigators intensify efforts to piece together what happened.
According to reports, officers revisited the scene and recovered several items they believe may be linked to the case, including clothing suspected to belong to the husband.
Police also searched his shop in Migori town, where they reportedly found a panga with suspected blood stains, adding that two of her mobile phones were also reported missing.
The husband claimed that he returned home late at night and found the house doors open before discovering her body.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing, and more suspects could be involved, and the motive behind the murder.
Her family called for investigations following her death, adding that she is going to be laid to rest on January 9, 2026 in Nyatike North Sub-Location in Migori County.
