CS Aden Duale Speaks On Resigning From Ruto's Govt As KSHs 11Billion Scandal Hits His Docket, Sends This Key Message

In an interview on Citizen TV’s JKLive, Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has found himself at the center of a brewing storm involving the Social Health Authority (SHA).

With reports surfacing of a staggering Ksh 11 billion was lost through fraudulent claims and fake surgeries, the public outcry for accountability has been deafening.

However, for those expecting a humble exit speech, Duale has derived a very different message, he isn't going anywhere.

Duale has not shyed away from the Ministry of Health’s tarnished reputation. He has candidly admitted that while he initially dismissed the "Mafia House" label attached to Afya House, three weeks on the job were enough to reveal the deep-seated rot.

Despite this acknowledgement, he has remained defiant regarding his tenure.

To him, the transition from the defunct NHIF to the SHA was always going to be a magnet for cartels looking to exploit the system.

Addressing the calls for his resignation, Duale has struck a firm, almost clinical tone. He has argued that resignation isn’t the only path to accountability.

He has stated that its only through a legislative route he can exit. He has pointed toward Parliament’s power to impeach.

He has noted that the criminal justice system exists to handle those who violate their oath of office.

He has further claimed that of the flagged funds, the ministry has already rejected Ksh 11.6 billion in fraudulent claims, with active measures underway to recover the Ksh 1.8 billion that actually left the coffers.

Duale’s key message is one of institutional cleanup rather than personal surrender.

By withdrawing authorization rights from 50 suspected medics and targeting specific facilities, he is betting his political future on being the man who cleans the house, rather than the one who leaves it in a mess.
