Suba South MP Caroli Omondi who has declared that he will defend his seat on a different party come the next general election.
Suba South MP Caroli Omondi has set in motion a mass exodus in the troubled ODM party ahead of the next general election.
According to the vocal lawmaker, he is on his way out of ODM and that he will defend his seat on a new party during the 2027 poll.
The declaration by Omondi who once served as chief of staff in the office of the former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, comes at a time of an uncertainty in the orange party.
The death of Raila in October 2025 has left the party with two factions: one that is supporting the broad-based government and the reelection of President William Ruto and another camp that is opposed to the current political arrangement.
ODM party leader Dr Oburu Oginga is facing an acid test in his quest to unite the party and make it very formidable in the run up to the 2027 general election.
But with the emerging exodus, ODM could end up being an empty shell by the time the country heads to the polls in 2027.
