A quiet village in Meru has been thrown into deep sorrow after a mother lost her three sons in a tragic road accident.
The boys were travelling from Meru to Bungoma when the vehicle they were in crashed, ending their journey and leaving the family heartbroken.
The story, which has drawn attention from across the country, mirrors a similar personal account shared earlier by the family.
Local reporters say the new details of the incident were gathered after speaking to relatives who opened up about the painful chain of events.
According to family members, the boys had just returned to Meru to bury their grandmother, who passed on recently.
Their mother, Fridah Kanana Kithinji, had separated from their father some time back and had been living with the children in Meru.
However, due to school fees challenges, the boys later moved to Bungoma to stay with their father so they could continue with their education.
After attending the grandmother’s burial, the children were expected to travel back to their father’s home ahead of school reopening.
Their mother was still recovering from the loss of her own mother and wanted the boys to settle before classes resumed.
Relatives say the mother requested a group of county employees who were in Meru for work activities to help transport the boys back to Bungoma.
The family believed the arrangement was safe and convenient, especially during the busy holiday period.
Sadly, the vehicle carrying the children got involved in a serious accident along the way. All three boys lost their lives instantly, leaving their parents and community in shock.
The boys’ bodies are currently preserved at Webuye Mortuary, and the family is appealing for financial help to transport them back to Meru for burial.
A fundraising meeting is already underway as neighbours, church members, and well-wishers gather to support the grieving mother.
In their message to the public, the family asked Kenyans to stand with them in prayer and any form of assistance as they prepare for the burial.
News of the tragedy has spread widely, with many Kenyans sending messages of condolence. People have encouraged the mother to remain strong and assured the family that the community stands with them during this painful moment.
