Fireworks As Boni Khalwale Arrives At Cyrus Jirongo's Home With A Torch

On Monday, the 29th of December, drama was witnessed at the home of the late politician Cyrus Jirongo, after Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale decided to visit the place while carrying a torch.

The legislator had actually gone to pay his last tributes to the late minister, ahead of his burial that is slated to take place tomorrow, at his home in Lumakanda, Lugari Constituency.

Hon. Boni Khalwale actually arrived at Lumakanda in style, while carrying a torch that was already lit on his left hand and a spear on his right hand.

He actually arrived while in the company of several of his supporters, who even gave him a heroic escort.

Aside from the torch and the spear, Hon. Boni Khalwale also went with a bull, that was written Jirongo on one side of its body.

The decision by Boni Khalwale to go with the torch to Lumakanda has actually come at a time when some people have been pushing for the remains of the late Cyrus Jirongo to be buried with a torch.

The aforementioned people, who are mainly allies of the late minister, have been suspecting foul play in the manner in which he died, which was reported to be an accident.

They have made it clear that they want the truth to be revealed on how Cyrus Jirongo actually died, and they have suggested that burying him with a torch will be one of the ways in which they will be able to achieve that goal.

This is in line with the Luhya tradition, where it is believed that when a murdered person is buried with a torch, then the dead person will be able to hunt for his/her killers in order to exercise revenge.

The torch therefore makes it possible for the hunt to continue both day and night.
