A morgue attendant recently shared that a handwritten note slipped from the pocket of a man who had just been brought in.
According to the attendant, the piece of paper fell to the floor as the man’s body was wheeled inside. It appeared to be a simple shopping list, a reminder of the little things he wanted to do before death cut his journey short.
On the note, he had written about spending KSh 250 to buy sugar and petroleum jelly.
The attendant said the moment was painful because it showed how fragile life can be.
“When this paper was written, he was alive and full of plans. Sadly, he never knew what awaited him. Tomorrow is never promised,” he said.
The revelation quickly spread online, leaving many Kenyans emotional. For some, the story reminded them of their own painful losses.
One person recalled how their teacher passed away suddenly, just days after giving them homework.
Another shared how they lost a mother who had only moments earlier asked them to prepare lunch.
Others said the note was a strong reminder that life should not be taken for granted.
